Home Energy Services

Customers and landlords with single family homes and other 1-4 unit dwellings may be eligible for Columbia Gas incentives of 75% of the cost, up to $2,000 to help insulate your home or property. (For condominiums or residences with 5 or more units please see our Multifamily Program.)

Through the Columbia Gas Home Energy Services program we provide:

  • A home energy assessments at no-cost
  • A report listing energy-saving improvements and recommendations
  • A list of available incentives.

Participating contractors are pre-qualified and adhere to strict standards. Customers will be assigned a contractor or may choose one from a list of BPI certified contractors.  All workmanship and materials are warranted for one year.

Eligible Improvements

Eligible energy-saving improvements that may qualify for financial incentives and/or rebates through the Home Energy Services Program include:

  • Attic insulation (If R-11 or less exists at the time of the home energy assessment)
  • Wall insulation (If none exists at the time of the home energy assessment)
  • Heating pipe/duct insulation
  • Low-flow showerheads and faucet aerators
  • Air sealing
  • Thermostat installations

  • Rebates in addition to the $2,000 maximum incentive for insulation improvements

    • Qualifying high-efficiency heating equipment
    • Qualifying high-efficiency water heating equipment
    • 7-day programmable thermostats

Income Eligible Program

For tenants and homeowners that meet certain income guidelines, Columbia Gas, in coordination with the local Community Action Agencies, offers eligible customers the following services at no-cost:

  • Home energy assessments
  • Weatherization products and services
  • Heating system repairs and/or replacement
